Accessibility Statement

Rufus Teague is committed to making rufusteague.live usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology.

The standard we are working to

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is the standard most commonly referenced for commercial websites in the United States.

Where we currently stand

Partial conformance. We are in the middle of an active remediation program rather than at the end of one, and we would rather say so plainly than claim more than we have earned.

Work completed so far includes:

  • Ingredients, allergen statements and Nutrition Facts published as real text on product pages, so they can be read by a screen reader rather than existing only inside label photographs.
  • Descriptive alternative text written for product photography.
  • A visible keyboard focus indicator on every interactive element, and a fix so that focused controls are no longer hidden behind the site header when tabbing through a page.
  • Colour contrast corrections, accessible names for embedded video, and form fields that work correctly with browser autofill.
  • Support for the operating system's “reduce motion” setting.

Known gaps

We are aware of the following and are working on them:

  • Captions are not yet available on all video content.
  • Ingredient and nutrition text is not yet published for every item in the catalogue.
  • Some features provided by third-party software on our site do not yet meet the standard. We are raising these with the vendors concerned and replacing the software where they cannot be fixed.
  • Our checkout is operated by Shopify, and its accessibility is largely determined by their platform.

If you cannot access product information on this site — including ingredients, allergens or nutrition facts — contact us and we will read it to you or send it in whatever format works best for you. Please do not rely on a product page if you are unsure about an allergen; ask us and we will confirm it.

Formal complaints

If you contact us about an accessibility problem and are not satisfied with our response, please tell us so, and we will escalate it internally rather than close it.
